Tablecloth
Etiquette à la Française, the English Way
Product Description
This tablecloth draws inspiration from the works of the renowned Madame Rothschild, who dedicated her life to documenting the art of good manners in France—how to sit at a table, how to greet, how to open a door, and how to be a true gentleman. The design showcases two distinct styles of table setting:
À la Française on the left and The English Way on the right, reflecting the cultural nuances of dining etiquette in both traditions. However, what makes this table truly eccentric is the unexpected elements woven into the setting. Among the fine silverware, elegant plates, and carefully arranged glassware, you’ll find whimsical details—a snail, an iPhone, a chandelier dripping with wax, and a pair of ballet slippers, as if remnants of a grand dinner frozen in time. The result is a surreal blend of tradition and modernity, evoking the feeling of a banquet table straight out of an old château, where history and contemporary life collide in the most unexpected ways.
