Tablecloth

La Villa E-1027, Roquebrune Cap Martin, La Villa Santo Sospir, Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat, France

Product Description

This tablecloth draws inspiration from the artistic murals of two iconic villas on the French Riviera: Villa E-1027 and Villa Santo Sospir. Villa E-1027, designed by Eileen Gray in 1929, features a graffiti-a tag signed by Le Corbusier. The story says that he did it one day on one of the wall of the Villa without telling Eileen, like a street artist. Le Corbusier that blend geometric abstraction with organic forms, reflecting the modernist ethos of the era. Villa Santo Sospir, transformed by Jean Cocteau in the 1950s, is adorned with frescoes that intertwine Greek mythology with personal motifs, creating a whimsical and intimate atmosphere. This tablecloth encapsulates the fusion of these artistic styles, combining the geometric precision of Le Corbusier's murals with the mythological and personal elements of Cocteau's frescoes. The design features intricate patterns and motifs that evoke the spirit of these villas, offering a unique blend of modernist and mythological artistry. By incorporating elements from both villas, this piece serves as a tribute to the rich artistic heritage of the French Riviera.
