LAS POZAS, XILITLA, MEXICO
from where you are
Xilitla is a small town of about 10,000 people in the south of the state of San Luis Potosi, in Mexico. Not far from there, Las Pozas, ”the pools” in Spanish, is one of the world’s most impressive sculpture gardens. Created in the sixties by English aristocrat, poet and patron of the Surrealist movement, Edward James, this collection of surrealist structures evokes a Dali painting.
DESCRIPTION These 19th century white dress-shirts, originally meant for men, come from the South of France. Extremely flexible they reflect light and have been used in movies like Gladiator or Lincoln. Made from linen, hemp or nettle, extremely durable, they can live for years. Kilometre reinvents this unique style by adding intricate embroideries with travel destinations on them to create a truly one of a kind piece. Each piece takes 3 months to embroider.
Hand embroidered in Mexico
